RERA [Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act] as a concept was introduced to establish a central legislation to regulate and promote the real estate sector in the country and address all the possible concerns relating to the Real Estate industry. The Real Estate Regulation and Development Bill) was passed by the Parliament on 15-03-2016 and received the president’s assent on the 25-03-2016. RERA however, came into absolute effect on the 01.05.2017 in India including the state of Maharashtra.
